E Books
Computer generated stories featuring photos of the children and/or created characters with audio of the children’s voices reading the story with accompanying text .
Computer generated E-books can be created using PowerPoint, Sharing the Journey resource, PhotoStory 3 or Kid Pix Deluxe 3 .
POWERPOINT
PowerPoint E-books can be created using one of the journey files from my resource Sharing the Journey. Each slide automatically has buttons which will take you to the next slide. Once you have finished click the red button to return to the Main Page and select an different story to view. PowerPoint allows you to add audio, video, pictures and text. You can customise the audio to play as part of a sequence or automatically when the slide starts. Instructions are in the Sharing the Journey book. You can also create your own PowerPoint E-Book using the Microsoft PowerPoint software.
PHOTOSTORY 3
PhotoStory3 may be downloaded free of charge from the Microsoft website. It is relatively easy to use. you import pictures and add a narration and background music. Once created it is a stand alone file playable on a computer. Each slide would be a page in your book that turns automatically at times you can customise.
KID PIX DELUXE 3
Using Kid Pix Deluxe 3 children create pictures which become the pages of the book. The pages may contain photos, animations, graphics, text and with or without an accompanying audio recording of the children reading the words displayed. Once created you use the software to create a slideshow than you export the slideshow as stand alone QuickTime movie.
In kid pix you can export the slideshow as a QuickTime Movie. This then can be copied and loaded into any computer. The computer doesn't have to have Kid Pix on it to run the movie it does however require QuickTime which can be downloaded from www.apple.com
