Digital portfolio
My resource Sharing the Journey is a digital portfolio system ready to go. To make a system you need to hyperlink various PowerPoint presentations together so that the viewer choose which story they wish to view. PowerPoint allowed me to create a system where the children couldn't access anything else on my computer. As I was using my laptop it was important to me to protect my files form accidental deletion.
The best feature of the digital portfolio is audio recordings. They make the documentation engaging form parents and children and it gives the child a true voice in the documentation of his or her learning journey.
The other great feature is the interactivity. Being able to view one story then another. Choosing what you want to see.
Another feature is that as it is all saved to the computer there are no printing costs. This can be a major benefit to centres or schools with budget problems.
