About Kim

Kim is currently the President of the Early Childhood Teachers Association ECTA (Qld).  Kim commenced in the position in 2006  prior to this she was state regional group coordinator for 2 years as well has helping with the website development.

Kim also works 1 day per week at a Prep Class at Gympie South State School.  Which she enjoys immensely.  The play based program allows Kim to develop the creativity of the children. Kim mentors her teaching partner and assistant on the use of digital photography usage to document the children's learning.

Kim spends the rest of her time creating resources, answering questions and queries from early childhood educators around the world and provides hands-on training and conference presentations to early childhood professionals. 

 

 

In 2oo6 Kim was commissioned by ECA to write a research in practice booklet  (December release) entitled Capture the Moment.

During the past 22 years Kim has taught in Kindergartens in Blackwater and Gympie.  Both centres were affiliated with C & K (sessional programs for 3-5 year olds). 

During 2002 Kim was nominated for the Teacher of Excellence Award for innovation in the early childhood settings and dedication to early childhood.  In 2004 she was nominated of the national Quality Teaching Award.
